It Gets Besser

Pretty incredible. Even though I grew up Modern Orthodox, I found myself feeling a visceral sense of freedom when I saw the "after" pictures. Before, their lives and appearances were chosen for them. After, they chose for themselves.

(HT: Failed Messiah. Apparently "besser" means "better" in Yiddish.)

Just by the way, atheists don't believe in free will, so no one is really choosing anything. It's all just brain chemistry.

My feelings about this are different from yours, but I will say that Metallica's "Unforgiven" was an inspired choice for the background music ("Deprived of all his thoughts, a young boy struggles on..." "Never free, never me..." "they dedicate their lives to running all of his; he tries to please them all, that bitter man he is."

I know the girl at 1:00 in the video. She was married but lesbian. Can't even begin to fathom what a HELL that must have been.

I would love to know the story of the guy who went into the Marines. I wonder where they found these people.

By the way, I don't see any reason to say that the "after" photos are any any happier, healthier or wealthier than the "before". Mainly, it just looks like younger, slimmer orthodox Jews becoming older, chubbier Gentiles. Big deal.

Funny, I've seen similar videos reversed. It's all about your POV.

Dear Sir, you go against all God intended you to be. You receive your very name and heritage from God. God chose the Jews to reveal Himself to the world. He gave you the Patriarchs, the divine glory, the covenants, the law, the temple worship, the promises, and through the Jews is the human ancestry of Christ, who is God over all.

God told Abraham that through him and his descendants He would bless the world. You are one of his descendants, yet you use the gifts, talents, and abilities God has given you to war against God and to lead people away from their Maker.

Can a person with abilities given to him by his Creator, go to war against His Maker with those abilities and prevail?

God is gracious,. He is in the business of forgiving. It's not too late for you to be the blessing God intended you to be.

I wonder what your take is on my recent blog post on the Israeli political situation. I lived in Israel for 2 years and served in the IDF, although I'm back in America now:

Take care,

Dear Mr.

To promote skepticism/critical thinking I wrote some questions for the Christian believer. Are you able to put the link to these questions at your blog.

Thank you very much,

In my honest opinion this video is absolutely pathetic. I myself am a jewish athiest, but this to me looks nothing more than propaganda.

Is this video trying to say that those people wouldn't have been able to go swimming with dolphins or kayaking while they were still religious.

How the hell can you make such a broad claim about their lives based on 2 photos from two different eras of their life?

I rate this 1 star, because I liked the girl in the short pants.
