I agree that the national polls are pretty irrelevant if Obama does well in the first couple of states. In 2004, Kerry was trailing Dean 32 to 17 nationally immediately before the New Hampshire poll and leading him 34 to 22 nationally the very next week. I'd be curious to see how he'll do in the Super Tuesday primaries. <BR/><BR/>Clearly, though, it will take far more Clinton miscues. His latest polling numbers have benefited from her mistakes; by in large he hasn't picked up points based on his own merits.
